You know what’s really great? Having oxygen to breathe. And you know what’s not that great? The fact that between 2015 and 2020, the rate of deforestation was estimated at 10 million hectares per year. That is a colossal number of trees that we’re consuming. On top of that, a moderately growing tree takes about ten years to reach a height of 18 feet. We need to plant more trees to make sure that the generations that come after us have enough to sustain the planet’s ecosystem.
As luck would have it, there are some amazing apps that allow people to do exactly that. Now you can plant trees online. This is a very innovative undertaking and doesn’t require much from the donor other than accessing an app or website from a smartphone, tablet or computer and taking the first step towards building a better future for the generations to come.
Users can select where they would like their tree to be planted and can even browse to find areas that are in dire need of reforestation and have a sapling planted there for them. There are coordinators across the globe working in conjunction with rural beneficiaries to plant these trees that are donated by good Samaritans with the preservation of our forests in mind.
It’s organizations like these that give hope to our dwindling forests and breathe new air (pun intended) into mother nature.
